Our History

G. Michael Wilson started Equitax Property Consultants in 1992 after a long, successful career in real estate brokerage and development. In September 2012, Pablo Franco became a partner, and the company changed its name to Wilson & Franco, LLC. Our company has recorded remarkable accomplishments over the years and ranks high among the most respected firms in the industry.

1992

Mike Wilson started Equitax as a part time business.

1993

Equitax wins first major case for Lyric Center Building in Houston’s Central Business District.

1994

Chase Bank engages Equitax for it Texas portfolio. Company moves downtown to Chase Bank Building. Equitax saves Chase $27 million over 10-year period.

1995

Equitax wins contract with Randall’s Foods for all Texas properties.

1996

Weingarten Realty Investors selects Equitax for Texas portfolio.

1997

Equitax reps Texas Commerce Tower and the Company develops the original Tax Bill Management software program.

1998

United Investors hires Equitax to represent their portfolio.

1999

Equitax achieves major Harris County Court case victories for Chase Tower and Randall’s.

2000

Equitax wins multi year $50 Million value reductions for Chase Tower.

2001

The Company developed and automated their Intangible Segregation and Rent Stratification models.

2002

Equitax manages Court of Appeals victory for United Investors v. HCAD, establishing landmark ruling for Equity/Uniform and Equal appeals.

2003

Mike Wilson recruits Pablo Franco to move to Texas and join the firm.

2004

HEB engages Equitax to represent all Central Market Stores in Texas (Real and BPP). Later, the engagement expanded to 200+ locations.

2005

AmREIT (currently EDENS) hires Equitax to represent their prime shopping center portfolio and Conn’s Appliances selects Equitax for their multi-state portfolio.

2006

Equitax enhanced their innovative Tax Bill Management software, now known as PropertyTaxSys.

2007

Chick-fil-A hires Equitax to represent their Texas portfolio.

2008

Equitax develops revolutionary GIS data interface application, now known as TaxSys4Texas.

2010

Costco engages Equitax to represent their Texas Real and Personal Property portfolio, and Midway selects Equitax to represent their high-profile properties in Harris County and throughout Texas.

2011

Equitax launched National Portfolio Management Service platform through PropertyTaxSys for AutoZone across the country for their real and personal property portfolio. Skanska USA engages Equitax for their Houston portfolio.

2012

Equitax reorganized to become Wilson & Franco, LLC, and relocated to expand their headquarters.

2014

Wilson & Franco, LLC expands services for Chick-Fil-A to include management of their national portfolio.

2015

Inspire Brands engages Wilson & Franco, LLC to manage their national portfolio.

2017

Genesco expands their contract to include Lids locations.

2018

The Company achieves victory for AmREIT Uptown Park, LP v. HCAD based on Highest and Best Use valuation theory. Wilson & Franco wins contract for Best Buy national business personal property administration.

2019

Wilson & Franco, LLC develops their web-based platform, including budget and accrual software servicing national clients. Pablo Franco becomes president of TAPTP.
